| Limited Editions
As a furniture maker I struggle to balance making a living with being creative. My goal is to come up with a series of designs and then make limited editions of each design; rather than making a few pieces in larger volumes. A limited edition will be between 12 and 20 pieces from one design. Each piece in a series will be unique as I cut up rough lumber in the search for interesting grain patterns and colour. Limiting the number of pieces in a limited editions keeps me challenged to come up with new designs on a regular basis.
Purchasing Work
Some of my work is currently available at my studio. Please check the Available Now section to see what is available. If the piece you are interested in is not immediately available, I can tell you how long it will take me to make a new piece in that series.
Bespoke Work (aka Custom Furniture)
In England they use the term "bespoke" for commissioned or custom work (my roots are showing!). I am happy to work with you build a brief for a new piece that will meet your needs. Together we will establish the requirements for the piece: where it will go, how you will use it, how it relates to the aesthetic of the room or building, the size, and price. I will create sketches or models and will send you wood samples. The brief and samples will give you the basis to choose the design and woods that will be used in the final piece.
Crating, Shipping and Delivery
I am happy to deliver furniture throughout the Puget Sound region. For clients outside this area, I can crate and ship my work anywhere. I will build strong custom crates to ensure that your furniture arrives in perfect condition.
Crating charges run from $200 for a dictionary stand, music stand or lectern, $350 for a writing desk and stool. Freight charges are about the same as the crating charges. |
