Detail of stave on the wing

The staves are matched for grain and colour for each side of the top. The ends of the stave a roughly shaped before the glueup. I do the final shaping with rasps, files and sandpaper. The staves of a wing are glued, placed on a form and left in vacuum bag overnight to set. The vacuum bag, of course, is snugly wrapped in an electric blanked to ensure that the glue kicks off.
